Iyengar Yoga is based on the teachings of living yoga master B.K.S. Iyengar, and the author of the classic yoga text Light on Yoga.

 

Mr. Iyengar's teachings are deeply grounded in the ancient yoga tradition. His intense practice and over 65 years of teaching have produced significant innovations.

Certified Iyengar Yoga Teachers complete a rigorous, extensive training, generally lasting 2-4 years. Becoming a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher requires years of practice, study and a rigorous examination of skills. For teachers, the Certification Mark demonstrates a commitment to maintaining the purity, excellence and high standards of Iyengar Yoga.
