A Year of Yoga & Mindfulness A 200-hour immersion training practice led by Cindy Dollar Yoga Alliance® accreditationOne Center Yoga has been approved as a Yoga Alliance registered school for 200 hours of yoga teacher training (RYS 200). Graduates of our Year of Yoga & Mindfulness training will be eligible to apply for their individual certificates as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT 200) who have met national training standards. This course is not accredited by the Iyengar Yoga National Association of the US. The breakdown of these 200 hours is: 75 hours of Techniques Training/Practice – includes asana, pranayama, chanting, meditation, and other traditional yoga techniques. These hours will be a mix of 1) learning the techniques and 2) instruction in how to teach them. 15 hours of Teaching Methodology – includes principles of demonstration, observation, and assisting of students as well learning to sequence poses and practices for maximum benefit. 10 hours of Anatomy and Physiology – includes physical (bodily systems, organs) and energetic (chakras, nadis, etc.) anatomy and physiology as related to yoga. Also includes the application of these principles (benefits and contraindications for poses; effects of poses and pranayamas on the body/mind complex). 20 hours of Yoga Philosophy/Lifestyle and Ethics for Yoga Practitioners – includes readings and discussion of the yoga sutras and other philosophical texts. 5 hours of Practicum – includes practice teaching and assisting and receiving feedback. (Note: if you are taking this course to deepen your own understanding of yoga but not to teach, you will not be required to teach in front of the group.
