Experience how the beautiful verses of the Tao can draw us into a deeper understanding of our yoga practice. This journey combines the insights of a Taoist scholar and poet who has translated the Tao Te Ching and the creative, playful direction of one of Anusara’s certified teachers. Cost: $40 with pre-registration ($50 at the door) Deirdre Smith Gilmer has dedicated many years of study with John Friend, founder of Anusara Yoga. She has a unique style that combines a beautiful, joyous spirit with an in-depth knowledge of alignment and therapeutics. Deirdre has taught yoga for 14 years in New York, Ecuador, and West Africa. She also served on faculty at two universities in New York, as well as at the American Dance Festival. Deirdre is thrilled to call Asheville her yoga home. Guy Leekley is a retired professor of literature, law, and philosophy. He is the author of Tao Te Ching: A New Version for All Seekers. A new, softcover edition of this book was published in 2008 by Anusara Press. Guy is also certified to teach classic hatha yoga and remains a dedicated student of all branches of yoga, Zen, and the Tao. |
